A Cartographic Commons

2018

Plywood, drywall, stationary, interactive performance

The Cartographic Commons invited participants to contribute to a library of hand-drawn maps.

Iā€™m interested in maps as visualizations of subjective histories, which describe locations as well as revealing deeper political and social nuances of place.

The Commons is a mobile kiosk which, as it collects maps, also becomes a portrait of each community's sense of place.
